Color Comparison Chart

This chart shows our most popular colors from each manufacturer compared to each other. We do have other colors available as well and you can see those in the charts lower down. Be aware these colors will look different on different monitors so please pay attention to the codes and, as always, if you have color questions please ask!

COLORS AND VARIATIONS

Our different holds and brands are made at different manufacturers in different materials, and while some are good matches, there is also some variation between manufacturers and even between hold styles at the same manufacturer (i.e. the slick part of a dual-tex hold can look different than regular texture or rock texture on a hold, even when produced at the same manufacturer for the same brand). These are facts about how color presents in climbing holds and will be true across all manufacturers and brands. For Setter Closet, Variations between manufacturers are noted on our color charts and will be noted in your cart online as well. if you are shopping via order form, you can still use the online cart as a tool to have color differences pointed out for you.

ORDERING

Our website ordering system is designed to allow you to sort and search across all colors regardless of manufacturer. For simplicity, the default setting will show you our core colors, but you can also search the full spectrum or make your own palette of preferred colors to be the ones you see first.

1. Core Colors - These are our nine (9) standard Aragon colors, available to order without logging into an account. We stock many of these and some are available to ship immediately. They are displayed on the site as below, with a general reference color and color code, but please use our color swatch charts on this page, where we took photos of the swatches and compared them, to get the best idea of what the colors are and PLEASE ASK IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS!

2. Your Colors - Build your own palette! If you create an account, you can set up to nine (9) colors as your custom color palette. Our site will then allow you to quickly search and sort by your preferred color selection for in-stock holds.

3. The Full Spectrum - Everything else! We hold stock of some additional colors and can manufacture a huge array of almost 40 different colors upon request.

Color variation alerts in cart! Below are examples of how some different skus will look in the cart. Note all three of these sets are pink, but they are from different manufacturers and so the color variation is noted below the sets. In this example, one set has a “slight variation” and one has a “noticeable variation”. If you need exact matches or want more info, please review our color comparison photos, charts, and matching notes, or ask us!

NEED 'EM QUICK?

If you are in a hurry, we recommend searching in stock holds first! Pro ordering mode (use the slider) will show you what colors we have in stock for each in stock set.

BRANDS AND SKU INFORMATION

Each hold set has its own SKU (Stock Keeping Unit). Our SKUs are coded to show you where the hold is manufactured. Use the chart below to determine how to read the SKU to determine the materials and points of origin for our different brands.

For example, if the SKU has an X in it, the set is made at Composite-X. So, KX056, KXJW001, UPX004, SPX003 and UNX115 are made at Composite-X in Europe, while K128, KHJW001, and UP004 are made at Aragon. Sup’r PU made at Peak has skus starting with SPP. Macros – VTF and Fiberglass – will have a V for VTF or an F for Fiberglass, and then the factory (A - Absolute, B - Binary, S Sup’r Equipment Factory). So an UNFS sku start means brand: UNleashed; material:  Fiberglass; manufactured at: Sup’r Equipment Factory.

OUTSIDE USE

Sun isn't great for PU long-term, so if your holds will be in the sun we recommend UV protectant, which is available for a 5% surcharge. Darker colors are also more resistant to fading with extended exposure. UV protectant must be added as the holds are made so these sets will have to be produced and cannot be purchased from stock. Any hold that lives outside will weather differently than holds used only indoors.

Color Swatches, Charts, Photos

Please find color charts of Aragon and Composite-X swatches, for reference, below.

For large orders, if you don't know the colors already, we encourage you to ask questions and, if necessary, to order actual physical color swatches to check. If you are ordering multiple brands from one manufacturer, as long as the material and color codes match, the holds should come in the same color (besides any small perception differences created by hold texture, i.e. slightly different appearance of slick dual-tex vs medium texture vs aggressively textured holds).

Your perception of these colors may depend on your monitor.  For more swatches, keep scrolling down and if you are unsure, have questions about a color match, or don’t see a color you want please ask and we can probably help figure it out for you.
