Installation Overview

You can select any or all of the following services based on your needs. Please note that 1–3 staff members may be required to assist the technician during installation.

To ensure the process runs smoothly and avoids damage to your light kit, it is essential to follow the steps in the correct order. Access the Kilter Board Setup Guide for your specific board by clicking from the selection below.

Frame/Panel Installation

You have several options for frame and panel installation:

Use your wall builder to construct and install the frame and panels.
Order a custom frame and/or panels for professional installation or self-installation.
Build your own frame if preferred.

Lights/Holds Installation

Wall builders may also assist with installing lights and holds, either independently or with the help of 1–3 of your staff.
Note that this service may incur additional costs, as it typically requires two people several hours to complete.
Alternatively, you can install the lights and holds yourself using our provided instructions and remote support. Some frame options include CNC marks indicating hold numbers and angles for each t-nut location.

Set Up a Wall on your App

To set up the Kilter Board (KB) app, first download it from the App Store or Google Play Store and create an account, or log in if you already have one. Once you’re signed in, go to Boards and select your board size and layout. Make sure to enable footholds if your board uses them, as this is a common step people miss. Next, connect your phone or tablet to the LED controller via Bluetooth—ensure your Bluetooth is turned on, and that no other devices are currently paired to the controller. After connecting, you’ll be able to sync your board and start loading problems. If anything doesn’t seem to work correctly (like lights not matching holds), double-check that you selected the correct board size and foothold option in the setup.

The KB app supports multiple board sizes and layouts, so when setting up your board it’s important to choose the correct one. The available layouts include:

Each layout has its own unique grid of holds and spacing, so selecting the right one ensures the LED lights and problems in the app match your physical board exactly. If you’re unsure which layout you have, check your installation guide or reach out to help@kiltergrips.com for confirmation.

White Glove Service

For customers in the US and Canada, this service includes the installation of the frame, panels, mats, holds, and lights by our professional technicians.

Requirements:

Clear the installation area.
Ensure a regular power source is available for the wall and lights.
Confirm that there are no wires or pipes under the slab where the frame and mats will be attached.
