The Cambridge Classic 2025: A Celebration of Climbing and Community
The Cambridge Classic 2025 at Central Rock Gym Cambridge brought an unforgettable day of climbing, community, and competition to New England. Held on August 9, the event drew an incredible crowd of athletes, setters, and spectators from across the region for one of the largest bouldering comps of the season. From morning qualifiers to the high-energy Open finals, the gym was buzzing with stoke—every top-out met with cheers, high-fives, and plenty of chalk in the air.
In the Open category, climbers faced seven uniquely creative and powerful problems that pushed balance, coordination, and determination to their limits. One of the standout climbs featured a dynamic paddle-through move that sent the crowd into a frenzy whenever it was stuck. After a fierce round of sends, the podium was topped by [insert Men’s Winner] and Helen Gillett for the women, both showcasing composure and style under pressure. The Citizens categories saw just as much energy, with new climbers and seasoned regulars alike giving their all on the 50+ problems throughout the day.
